Newcomer Solutions
At National Geographic Learning we believe that students deserve to learn with content that is engaging and motivating, that brings the world to their classroom, regardless of proficiency level. Our newcomer solutions build on newcomer students' unique strengths and backgrounds. We celebrate their cultures and knowledge, while simultaneously developing their English proficiency and grade-level concepts and skills to allow them to survive and thrive in their new environments.
Part of our overall program offering, these newcomer materials meet multilingual teens at their current level: starting with the alphabet to high frequency vocabulary for cross-curricular subjects and the writing process. Students will be equipped with strategies and knowledge to successfully navigate their new academic settings.
National Geographic Learning also provides in-depth teacher support from placement tests to step-by-step Teacher's Guides with detailed phonics instruction, teaching tips, and best practices useful to both new and veteran instructors.
